In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique!


 

Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with partner drills. They focused on the techniques Front Thrust Kick, High Block and Crane Stance. To help with Front Thrust Kick, High Block parents can hold up a pillow in front of students as a target for them to kick and then swing the pillow straight down for students to block over their head. Keep practicing your crane form and be ready to show off your Crane Stance!

 

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with relay races to get a good cardio workout. They reviewed their High Block Punch and their Crane Stances. Basic students also learned section 2 of the Five Stances form. Keep working on holding your Crane Stances to improve your balance.

Teen and Adult Basic students also learned section 2 of the Five Stances form. They worked on Horse Stances and Drop Stances. As well as their Thread Palm.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with their Outside Crescent Kick. They worked on their Lotus Kick from section 2 of their new Eagle form. Students learned section 2 of their Soaring Eagle form.

 

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students practiced their basic stances to start class. They reviewed section 1 of the Soaring Eagle form. They worked on applying their Bicycle Strikes from section 1.

 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons warmed up with their Chops. The focus was on learning section 2 of the form. Students should practice their control with their chops making sure they stop their swing at the appropriate time.

 

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with section 1 of their form. Advanced students began learning section 2 of their form. Advanced weapon students focused on their undercuts and maintaining mobility in their wrists.
