In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Don’t forget to sign up for testing, test sheets are at the front of the school and test dates and times are listed on the signup sheet!

Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a series of partner workouts. They focused on the techniques, Snap Kick and Palm Strike! To help with their Snap Kick parents can hold a pillow at students’ waist height. Students should pick up their left knee and point it at the target. Students should then snap their foot out and back to hit their target as fast as possible!  Keep practicing your Chang Quan form and be ready to show off your Snap Kick!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a basic endurance workout. They practiced section two of their Five Stances Form. Students also reviewed getting into and out of drop stances safely!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a test-style endurance workout. Students focused on section one of their form. They also reviewed their Line Kicks and 4 basic blocks.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a test-style endurance workout. Students reviewed sections three and four of their leopard form as well as the technique portion of their test. Students should practice their entire form to prepare for their test!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a test-style endurance workout. They reviewed sections three and four of their form and worked on performing them. They also practiced style-specific shadowboxing combinations with their instructors.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by practicing their form. The focus was on building one-step combinations with their instructors. Students should practice building shadowboxing combinations with their weapons to prepare for their test.

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with their entire form. Advanced weapon students took turns performing their forms similar to their test. Students continued building shadowboxing combinations to prepare for their test.
