In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a run through the woods. They focused on the techniques Double Palm and Outside Block Punch! To help with their Double Palm parents can hold a pillow at students’ shoulder height. Students should drop into their Horse Stance to stay stable and use both hands to push straight out and send their target flying!  Keep practicing your Chang Quan form and be ready to show off your Double Palm!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a test-style endurance workout. They practiced section one of their Five Stances Form. Students also reviewed the application of section one’s movements and practiced with their instructor!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a test-style endurance workout. Students focused on section three of their form. They worked more on their Cat Stances and their Flash Palms.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a test-style endurance workout. Students reviewed sections one and two of their leopard form as well as their self-defense applications. Students should practice their entire form to prepare for their test!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a test-style endurance workout. They reviewed sections one and two of their form and worked on combining them. They also practiced shadowboxing and one-step combinations with their instructors.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by practicing their full and half thrusts. The focus was on building one-step combinations with their instructors. Students should practice their entire form without any pauses.

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with their entire form. Advanced weapon students reviewed their flow drills with each other. Students also began building shadowboxing combinations.
