In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a series of animal walks. They practiced their Fly Through The Sky, and Wrap Around The Pole from their dragon form! To help with their Wrap Around The Pole parents can grab students' shoulders from behind. Students should twist and drop in place to break the attacker's grip and then punch toward the knees! Keep practicing your Dragon form and be ready to show off your Wrap Around The Pole!
BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a series of relay races. They reviewed their Snap Kick and Round House Kicks. Students also practiced sections one and two of their forms. Students should practice their basic punch combinations to prepare for next week!
Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an intense endurance workout. Students practiced sections one and two of their fighting form. Students also reviewed their basic blocks!
Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a series of relay races. Students reviewed their basic stances in the same order they are in the form! Students practiced sections one and two and focused on stable stances. Students should practice sections one and two of their Lian Huan form as well as their basic punches!
Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an intense endurance workout. They continued performing sections one and two together. Make sure to drill your basic stances and practice your basic punches to prepare for sparring.
Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by reviewing their forward and reverse flowers. The focus was on combining sections one and two with confidence. Students practiced their forms with a count and on their own. Students should practice the basic strikes and sitting stance from the form.
Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students continued with their basic wrist-strengthening exercises. Students then learned section two of their form. Students should practice their spear form as well as their footwork from section two.
