In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a series of partner workouts. They practiced their Dragon Punch, and Feeler Strikes from their dragon form! To help with their Dragon Punch parents can hold out a pillow in front of students. Students should their dragon fists to grab and pull the pillow away before throwing it back! Keep practicing your Dragon form and be ready to show off your Dragon Punch!
BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a series of relay races. They reviewed their basic blocks and combinations. Students also began learning section two of their form. Students should practice sections one and two of their form and basic techniques to prepare for next week!
Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout and a review of their four basic blocks. Students reviewed section one of their fighting form. Students also learned section two of their form!
Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a series of relay races. Students reviewed their palm strikes and Jab+Cross combinations! Students learned section two and focused on powerful strikes. Students should practice sections one and two of their Lian Huan form!
Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with pushups and a review of their basic blocks. They focused on performing sections one and two together. Make sure to practice the performance details discussed in class.
Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by reviewing the anatomy of a staff. The focus was on reviewing the footwork from their form. Students practiced performing section one of their form. Students should practice the individual techniques as well as section one of their form.
Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students continued with their basic wrist-strengthening exercises. Students then reviewed their tosses and flips. Students should practice sections one and two of their spear form as well as their basic techniques.
