In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a run through the woods. They practiced their Pounce, and Leave the Cave from their dragon form! To help with their Leave the Cave Parents can hold their arm side to side at students' shoulder height. Students should duck down under the attacker's arm and pop back up and push their dragon claws up! Keep practicing your Dragon form and be ready to show off your Leave the Cave!
BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a series of relay races. They reviewed all of their fighting stance and their Jab+Cross combination. Students also began learning section one of their form. Students should practice their new form and basic techniques to prepare for next week!
Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout and extensive stance training. Students reviewed their Jab+Cross and their Snap Kick. Students also learned section one of their fighting form!
Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a series of relay races. Students reviewed their basic stances to prepare for their form! Students learned section one and focused on strong stances and fast strikes. Students should practice section one of their Lian Huan form!
Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with extensive stance training. They focused on how to move through their basic stances effectively. They also learned section one of their Lian Huan form.
Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by reviewing the anatomy of a staff. The focus was on learning basic strikes and combos from their form. Students started learning their new form. Students should practice the individual techniques as well as section one of their form.
Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with a series of wrist-strengthening exercises. Students then reviewed their La Na Zha's and other basic techniques. Students should practice section one of their spear form as well as their basic techniques.
