In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a series of animal walks. They focused on the technique, Cobra Kick, and Burrow! To help with their Burrow parents can bear hug students from behind and try to pick them up. Students should reach their hands up as high as they can to break their attacker's grip and then drop and roll back to escape the grab! Keep practicing your Snake form and be ready to show off your Burrow!
BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a test-style endurance workout. They reviewed their Outward Elbows on bags and against instructors. Students also practiced performing their entire forms to get ready for testing. Students shout continue practicing your forms and techniques!
Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a test-style endurance workout. Students reviewed their entire Chang Quan form and focused on the precision of their stances. Students also practiced their basic techniques like they will on their tests. Students finished class with a review of their kicks and checks!
Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a test-style endurance workout. Students practiced their entire mantis form! Students reviewed their self-defenses and practiced their abduction defenses. Students should practice their mantis techniques individually to prepare for testing!
Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an upgraded endurance workout. They focused on performing their entire Mantis form. They also reviewed the application for some of their more unusual techniques.
Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by creating shadowboxing combinations. The focus was on performing their entire form on their own. Students should continue to practice their form with power and confidence.
Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class by practicing their forms. Students then worked on building shadowboxing combinations. Students should practice their form to prepare for their test.
