In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from this quarter’s forms! 

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a series of partner workouts. They focused on the technique, 3 Snake Bites, and Snake Hug! To help with their 3 snake bites parents can hold up targets at different heights. Students should keep their snake hands up and strike toward each target as fast as they can! Keep practicing your Snake form and be ready to show off your 3 snake bites!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a challenging endurance workout. They reviewed a series of basic techniques and ran relay races using their basic strikes. Students finished class by working on their hand sparring skills!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout. Students briefly reviewed their entire Chang Quan form. Students worked on a series of break falls and other safety skills. Students finished class with sparring rounds!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a challenging endurance workout. Students practiced sections one and two of their mantis form! Students practiced their hammer fists and palm strikes and used them in a series of relay races. Students should practice their entire form from start to finish!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an endurance workout and stance review. They focused on performing sections one and two of their Mantis form. They also continued sparring with instructors. 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by practicing their entire form. The focus was on performing with speed and strength. Students should practice building shadowboxing combinations.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class by practicing their forms. Students then took turns performing their form. Students should practice their shadowboxing combinations to prepare for their test.
