In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a run through the woods. They focused on the technique, Fighting Stance, and Belly Flop! To help with their Belly flop parents can grab onto students' wrists. Students should circle both hands outward and up before pushing down to swat away their attackers' hands! Keep practicing your Snake form and be ready to show off your Belly Flop!
BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a review of their form. They practiced performing their entire Chang Quan form to prepare for stripe testing. Students finished class by either working on their basic hand techniques or starting hand sparring!
Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an upgraded endurance workout. Students practiced their entire Chang Quan form. Students ended class by joining the BBC class for a few rounds of hand sparring!
Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a basic endurance workout. Students practiced sections three and four of their mantis form to prepare for their stripe test! Students finished class by either working on their basic hand techniques or with rounds of hand sparring!
Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an upgraded endurance workout. They focused on performing sections three and four of their Mantis form. They also began sparring with instructors.
Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by reviewing their forms in separate sections. The focus was on performing their entire Broadsword form. Students should practice walking through their entire form from start to finish without any breaks.
Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class by reviewing their cloud parries. They practiced their entire form from start to finish. Students should practice their wrist-strengthening exercises to improve their control of their weapon.
