In this blog series, we will post minders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from this quarter’s forms! 

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with Animal Walks. They focused on the technique, Snake Search, and Cobra Stance! To help with their Cobra Stance students should practice standing on one leg keeping their other leg bent and their snake hands up. For an extra challenge, students can stand on pillows or other uneven surfaces to really test their balance skills! Keep practicing your Snake form and be ready to show off your Cobra Stance!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout. They practiced throwing strong punches in their form and on bags. Students reviewed section three of their Chang Quan form. Students should start combining sections one and two of their form!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout and stretching. Students practiced sections two and three of their Chang Quan form. Students also began working together on some more advanced sparring drills!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an endurance workout. Students reviewed their thrust front and side covers. Students learned section four of their mantis form! Make sure to practice section four of your mantis form as well as the sparring skills covered in class!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an endurance workout. They focused on learning section four of their Mantis form. They also worked on style-specific shadowboxing combinations and one step. 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by practicing their forward and reverse flowers. The focus was on reviewing sections one and two of their Broadsword form. Students should practice building shadowboxing combinations.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with reverse flowers and monkey staff kick-ups. They reviewed section four of their form. Students should practice sections three and four of their form without pausing or slowing down.
