In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from this quarter’s forms! 

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with partner workouts. They focused on the technique, 3 Snake Bites, and Snake Hug! To help with their Snake Hug students should use their snake hands to strike across and squeeze tight. For an extra challenge, parents can hold a pillow n front of students as a target and students should use one hand to strike low and the other to strike high to flip their target! Keep practicing your Snake form and be ready to show off your Snake Hug!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a review of their basic thrust kicks. They practiced their rest stances and slap fists. Students began learning section three of their Chang Quan form. Students should continue to practice section three of their form as well as their basic strikes!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a basic endurance workout and stance drills. Students continued reviewing section three of their Chang Quan form. Students also began working together on some more advanced sparring drills!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a basic endurance workout. Students reviewed their thrust kicks and elbows. Students learned section three of their mantis form! Make sure to practice Section three of your mantis form as well as the self-defense combinations covered in class!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a basic endurance workout. They focused on reviewing section three of their Mantis form. They also worked on more advanced sparring drills with partners as well as building mantis shadowboxing combinations. 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by practicing their chops and undercuts. The focus was on reviewing sections three and four of their Broadsword form. Students should practice the first half of their form without breaks or slowing down.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with forward and reverse flowers. They began learning section four of their form. Students should practice section four of their form focusing on making every strike as powerful as possible.
