In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from the first and second sections of this quarter’s forms! This week is Buddy Week, make sure to bring in friends or family to join you in class. All week long we will be doing fun games and drills for everyone! 

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with their form. They focused on the technique, Cobra Spit, and Side Winder Step! To help with their Side Winder Step students should step one foot behind the other to dodge to the side. For an extra challenge, students can show off their snake hands while doing their backward walk! At the end of class, students performed their snake form to earn their stripes. Keep practicing your Snake form and be ready to show off your Side Winder Step!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a basic workout. They practiced their Stranger Defense and Ridge Hands. Students also performed sections one and two of their forms to earn their black stripes. Students should continue to practice sections one and two of their form to prepare for stripe testing!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a variety of stance drills. Students practiced sections one and two of their Chang Quan form. Students also began building one-step combinations!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a basic endurance workout. Students reviewed sections one and two of their Mantis form to prepare for their stripe test. Students got a chance to perform their form at the end of class to earn their black stripes! Make sure to practice Sections one and two and get ready to start learning section three!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a series of stance drills focusing on basic stances. They focused on performing sections one and two of their Mantis form. They also worked on building shadowboxing combinations.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by working on wrist stretches and flowers. The focus was on learning section three of their Broadsword form. Students should practice section three of their form with strong stances.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with wrist-strengthening exercises. They continued performing sections one and two of their form. Students should continue to practice the first half of their form focusing on the performance details discussed in class.
