In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from the first and second sections of this quarter’s forms! This week is Test Week so make sure to practice your forms and if you haven’t already make sure to stop in or call and register for testing!

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with animal walks. They focused on the technique, Hook Punch, and High Block! To help with their Hook Punch parents can Hold up a pillow as a target, students should lift their leopard fists and twist their shoulders to punch the side of their target! Keep practicing your Leopard form and be ready to show off your Hook Punch!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout. They practiced their four basic blocks. Students also took turns performing their fighting form. Students should continue to practice their fighting form and basic techniques to prepare for testing!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a challenging endurance workout. Students practiced performing their entire form. Students also practiced their One Step combinations!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an endurance workout. Students reviewed all four sections of their Chang Quan form. Students also worked on their Chang Quan Techniques! Make sure to practice your whole form to prepare for testing!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a test-style endurance workout. They focused on performing their entire Chang Quan form with power and low stances. They also reviewed their Chang Quan techniques to prepare for testing.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by reviewing the footwork of each section from their form. The focus was on combining all four sections of their form with confidence. Students should practice their form and shadowboxing to prepare for testing.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with form review. They focused on building strong shadowboxing combinations using movements from their form. Students should continue to practice performing their form to prepare for testing.
