In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from the first and second sections of this quarter’s forms! We only have one more week before test week. Make sure to sign up for your test and practice at home to be ready to show off your forms! Test sheets can be found on the bulletin board at the front of the school!

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a run through the woods. They focused on the technique, Low Block, and Cat Tail! To help with their Low Block parents can slowly punch toward students’ torso, students should swing their leopard fists across their bodies sweeping strikes to the side! Keep practicing your Leopard form and be ready to show off your Low Block!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a test-style endurance workout. They practiced their striking combinations on both sides. Students also worked on performing their fighting form. Students should continue to practice their fighting form and basic techniques to prepare for testing!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout very similar to their test. Students practiced their entire form from start to finish. Students also practiced building shadowboxing combinations!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an endurance workout modeled after their test. Students reviewed all four sections of their Chang Quan form. Students also worked on their Dragon Sweeps! Make sure to practice your whole form to prepare for testing!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an upgraded endurance workout. They focused on performing their entire Chang Quan form without any breaks. They also practiced their one-step combinations and shadowboxing to prepare for testing.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by jumping right into their form. The focus was on combining all four sections of their form with confidence and power. Students should practice their shadowboxing to prepare for testing.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with form review. They focused on performing their entire form similar to the way they will perform for their test. Students should continue to practice creating shadowboxing combinations to prepare for testing.
