In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership to your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Be sure to check out our youtube channel for videos from the first and second sections of this quarter’s forms! As belt testing approaches make sure to sign up for testing. Test sheets can be found on the bulletin board at the front of the school!

Lil’ Dragons: Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with animal walks. They focused on the technique, High Block, and Hook Punch! To help with their hook Punches parents can hold up a pillow as a target, students should punch from side to side to hit the side of their target! Keep practicing your Leopard form and be ready to show off your Hook Punch!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout. They practiced their basic blocks and hand combinations. Students also worked on putting all three sections of their fighting form together. Students should continue to practice their fighting form and basic techniques to prepare for testing!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with a test-style endurance workout. Students practiced their entire form from start to finish. Students also broke down some of their basic punches to focus on accuracy!

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an endurance workout. Students reviewed sections one and two of their form. Students also worked on their self-defense application for their sections! Make sure to practice your whole form to prepare for testing!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a basic endurance workout. They performed sections one and two of their Chang Quan form. They also practiced their one step combinations to prepare for testing.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off with a review of their forward and reverse flowers. The focus was on performing their form with strong stances and accuracy. Students should practice their form and their shadowboxing to prepare for their test.

Advanced Weapons: This week, the Advanced weapon students started class with form review. They focused on sections one through four and performed all four sections. Students also worked on being more creative with their shadowboxing combinations. Make sure to practice shadowboxing the way it was discussed in class to prepare for testing.
