In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! As we continue our summer quarter, make sure practice your new material to prepare for an amazing quarter!
Lil' Dragons: Lil' Dragons students warmed up with animal walks. They focused on the techniques Eagle Claw High and their Eagles Go!. To help with their Eagle Claw High parents can hold a toy just out of students reach so that students have to stretch in their hook stance to grab onto it. Students should use their Hook Stance to practice their balance! Keep practicing your new eagle form and be ready to show off your Eagle Claw High!
BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a series of partner workouts. They reviewed sections one and two of their fighting form, they focused on combining the sections to make one cohesive form. Make sure to practice to be ready for stripe testing!
Teen and Adult Basic students began class with basic combos designed for real world use. Students worked on combining sections one and two with power and speed. They also worked on some basic kicks and their application against an opponent.
Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with partner drills that focused on timing and cardio. Students reviewed sections one and two of their form. Students also reviewed their self defenses from sections one and two. Make sure to practice your forms for stripe testing.
Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with some basic sparring combinations. They focused on reviewing sections one and two of their form. They also worked on sparring drills with partners such as Sticky Hands, and the Shoulder Tap Game.
Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off with forward and reverse flowers while walking down the floor. The focus was on reviewing section two of their form. Students should practice their small room clear into their sitting stance.
Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with wrist and shoulder strengthening exercises designed to help with controlling their weapon. Advanced weapon students combined sections one and two of their form. Students also worked on building their Dizzy Leap as well as their Coils.
