Hello AMAI Family!
In this blog series we will be posting reminders of what the students worked on the previous week. This could be helpful to make sure you know what you or your child should be working on while at home. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form then talk to your instructor about adding A Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that breakdown every section of your form and every technique!

Lil' Dragons: 
The Lil' Dragons worked on the Snake form this week and the techniques we worked on this past week were their "Snake Blocks/Snake Search" and their "Crane Stance." To practice the snake search, swing a pillow at them lightly and have them block with their snake search in their dragon riding stance. For the crane stance technique, Lil' Dragons can stand in one place and pick up one foot and see how long they can balance. Keep up the good work and don't forget to practice the form!


BASIC Program: BASIC Program students worked on section 3 of the Five Stances form! Focus on keeping a low cat stance and a powerful flash palm. The techniques that the Basic Students worked on are "Cat Stance, Flash Palm." and "Line Kicks." The practice the cat stance flash palm, try and step into a cat stance as you strike with your flash palm. For the line kicks, Be sure to practice in an area with plenty of space, make sure to do at least 4 of each kick walking in a straight line. For an added challenge try to knock out 15 push-ups, 30 elbow to knee crunches, and 45 seconds of your Horse Stance!


Kids BBC Program: Last week, the Kids BBC students practiced sections 1+2 of the Ferocious Tiger form. Practice sections 1+2 at home at least 10 times before next week! BBC Students can also practice their "Long Arms" by starting with their hands in guard, then bring their left hand down and in front of their body making a big circle. Then bringing their left hand up high and throwing a back-fist at the floor followed by a hook punch with their right hand. For an added challenge try to knock out 20 push-ups, 30 elbow to knee crunches, 10 frog leaps, 25 Jumping Jacks and 45 seconds of your Horse Stance!


Adult/Teen BBC Program: Teen and Adult BBC students reviewed section 2 of the Ferocious Tiger form. Practice the inside crescent kick from section 2 by starting in a rear cross stance, stepping forward with your left leg and bringing your right leg up and across your body! For an added bonus try putting sections 1 and 2 together Try practicing section 2 at home 10 times before your next class!


Weapons: Weapons students started learning combo 3 of Hook Swords last week and should practice combo 1+2 of the form. You can also practice shadowboxing over the next week!
