Hello AMAI Family!

In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! Test week in coming up soon, make sure you sign up at the front of the school!

Lil' Dragons:  Lil' Dragons students warmed up with form practice. They focused on the techniques Cranes Beak in a Cat Stance and their Crane Stance. To help with their Cranes Beak in a Cat Stance students should be able to use their cat stance to dodge any incoming strikes or grabs. For an added bonus students can use their cranes beak to block and push away any strikes coming their way! Keep practicing your crane form and be ready to show off your Cranes Beak in a Cat Stance!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout similar to their test. They reviewed their Outside Block Punch and their Flash Palm. Make sure your Outside Block Punch is one fluid combination.

Teen and Adult Basic students began class with an endurance workout very similar to their test. Students reviewed their Snake Creeps Down and its possible applications. They focused on performing their forms and getting ready to test. Make sure to practice your full form keeping in mind the performance details discussed in class.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with form practice focusing on performance. Students reviewed their abduction defense as well as their Lotus Kicks. Students also revisited their self defense drills.

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an endurance workout similar to the endurance portion of their test. They focused on performing their entire form as one cohesive form. They practiced building Shadow Boxing combinations as well as One Step drills.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons practiced their entire form start to finish. The focus was on performing the form with confidence and power. Students should continue building shadowboxing combinations using the skills and strategies discussed in class.

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with their entire form. Advanced weapon students focused on breaking down each section of their form and keeping strong stances and powerful strikes. Students should build their own shadowboxing combinations to prepare for their test.
