In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a run through the woods. They focused on the techniques Double Palm and Outside Block Punch! To help with their Outside Block Punch parents can swing a pillow at head level. Students should lift their left arm to block the pillow and then punch towards their attacker! Keep practicing your Chang Quan form and be ready to show off your Outside Block Punch!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with the dodging game. They reviewed section one of their Five Stances Form. Students also worked on basic blocks and snap kicks. Students should practice their whole form as well as their basic blocks!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout. Students reviewed section one of their form. They also took some time to start building shadowboxing combinations.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an  endurance workout and review of their side thrust kicks. Students learned section three of their leopard form. Students also leared the self defense for the section!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a test style endurance workout. They learned section three of their form and discussed the different ways to use the techniques from their form to defend themselves. They also worked on one step combinations with their instructors.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off with a review of section three of their form. The focus was on learning section four of their form. Students should continue to use the moves from their form to create their own shadowboxing combinations.

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with forward and reverse flowers to help with wrist mobility. Advanced weapon students focused on learning section four of their form. Students should practice section four of their form focusing on leading with the blade fo their swords and accuracy with each strike.
