Hello AMAI Family!

 

In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! As we continue our summer quarter don’t forget to practice your forms and endurance. Make sure to sign up for your test, sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin board at the front of the school!

 

Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with their Eagle form. They focused on the techniques Outside Crescent Kick and Circle Your Pray! To help with their Circle Your Pray parents swing a pillow down towards students head. Students should stay low and step to the side to evade and walk around the bad guy! Keep practicing your eagle form and be ready to Circle Your Pray!

 

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout. They practiced their techniques to prepare for their test. Students also practiced their fighting form!

Teen and Adult Basic students began class with a test style endurance workout. Students reviewed each portion of their test focusing on their techniques. They also used their basic strikes to build shadowboxing combinations.


Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an endurance workout. Students reviewed sections 3 and 4 of their shaolin form. They also practiced their self defenses for the sections. At the end students had the oppertunity to spar with their instructors!

 

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with a test style endurance workout. They practiced their sparring drills such as the shoulder tap game. They also practiced building one step combinations.

 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off with Forward and reverse flowers. The focus was on using their techniques from the form to build shadow boxing combinations. Students should practice their their form from start to finish without breaking between sections.

 

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with shadow boxing combinations moving down the floor. Advanced weapon students performing their forms with a focus on accurate targets and fast strikes. Students also worked on weapon one step combinations with instructors.
