Hello AMAI Family!


In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique! This week is test week, make sure you bring in your formal top and positive attitude to your test!


Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with Animal Walks. They focused on the techniques Cranes Beak and their Show Off Your Wings. To help with their Show Off Your Wings parents can reach in to grab students wrists so students can use their outside blocks to push bad guys away! Keep practicing your crane form and be ready to Show Off Your Wings!


BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout to prepare for their test. They reviewed their 4 Basic Blocks (Inside, Outside, High, and Low Blocks). Make sure you practice your whole form to be ready to test!

Teen and Adult Basic students began class with an upgraded endurance workout. Students reviewed their 4 Basic Blocks (Inside, Outside, High, and Low Blocks). They focused on performing their forms in front of an audience to prepare them for their test. Make sure to practice your full form to be ready to get your new belts.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with an endurance workout similar to their test. Students practiced their entire forms start to finish and worked on performing to prepare for their test. Students also revisited all 4 of their their self defense drills from their form.


Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with an endurance workout similar to the endurance portion of their test. They focused on preparing their form for their test. They practiced building Shadow Boxing combinations as well as One Step drills.


Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons practiced their entire form start to finish. The focus was on building shadowboxing combinations with confidence and power. Students should continue practicing their entire form as well as building shadowboxing combinations for their test.


Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with their entire form. Advanced weapon students practiced performing their form for the class. Students also worked on building shadowboxing combinations to prepare for their test.
