In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique!


 

Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with animal walks. They focused on the techniques Inside Crescent Kick and Cranes Neck. To help with the Inside Crescent Kick parents can stack pillows taller and taller to see how tall students can kick. Try and aim to kick as tall as their head! Keep practicing your crane form and be ready to show off your Inside Crescent Kick!

 

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a partner workout. They reviewed their Cat Stance Flash Palm and their Line Kicks. Basic students reviewed section 3 of their Five Stances form. Keep working on showing off your powerful Flash Palm!

Teen and Adult Basic students began class with a stance review. Students reviewed section 1 of their Five Stances form. They broke down their Outside Block Punch and practiced it’s application.


Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a review of their Basic Blocks and Crunches. Students learned section 4 of their form, as well as the Self Defense for section 4. They also reviewed their Rear Leg Snap Kicks.

 

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students worked on reviewing their more basic stances. They reviewed section 3 of the Soaring Eagle form. They also practiced their second abduction defense drill.

 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons warmed up with sections 1 +2 of their form. The focus was on building shadow boxing combinations with their weapons. Students should practice combining their Wrap, Reverse Wrap, and Conceal into one fluid motion.

 

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with different types of blocks and counters. Advanced weapon students focused on reviewing sections 4+5 of their form. Students should practice their 2 Handed Wraps, as well as their Cuts and Slices.
