In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique!


 

Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with a partner workout. They focused on the techniques Front Thrust Kick and High Block, and Crane Stance. To help with the Front Thrust Kick, parents can use pillows as targets. Hold a pillow in front of your Lil’ Dragons and they can use their front thrust kick to push their targets away! Keep practicing your crane form and be ready to show off your Front Thrust Kick!

 

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with a series of relay races. They reviewed their Thread Palm and their Snake Creeps Down. Basic students reviewed section 2 of their Five Stances form. Keep working on showing off your low Drop Stances.

Teen and Adult Basic students began class with a standard endurance workout. Students continued performing the entire Five Stances form. They broke down the applications of many of the moves throughout their form.


Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a review of their Roundhouse Kicks. Students section 3 of their form, as well as the Self Defense for section 3. They also reviewed Spinning Hook Kicks.

 

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students worked on building up their endurance. They learned section 3 of the Soaring Eagle form. They also application drill for the new section.

 

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons warmed up with their chops and undercuts. The focus was on combining sections 3+4 of the form. Students should practice their control with their chops throughout the form.

 

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with Sections 1-4 of their form. Advanced weapon students focused on learning section 5 of their form. Students should practice their Cloud Parry, and their Shadow Boxing.
