Hello AMAI Family!


In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. If you need extra help on any movements or sections of the form, talk to your instructor about adding a Virtual Membership onto your current membership to unlock videos that break down every section of your form and every technique!


Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with running through the woods. They focused on the techniques Show Off Your Wings and Crane Beak. To help with Show Off Your Wings students can use their crane wings to block a parent trying to swing a pillow at their head. Keep practicing your crane form and be ready to show off your wings!


BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with the dodging game to test their reflexes and speed. They reviewed their 4 basic blocks. Basic students also learned section 1 of the Five Stances form.

Teen and Adult Basic students also learned section 1 of the Five Stances form. They worked on Bow Stances and Crane Stances. As well as their Jab+Cross combination.

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with their Snap Kicks. They worked on their Eagle Claws from section 1 of their new Eagle form. Students learned section 1 of their Soaring Eagle form.


Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students practiced their pushups, crunches, and squats to start class. They learned section 1 of the Soaring Eagle form. They also reviewed their boxing combinations such as their Jab Cross Hook combination.


Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons warmed up with level conceals, wraps, and reverse wraps. The focus was on learning section 1 of the form. Students should practice combining their wrap into a reverse wrap, and finishing with a level conceal.


Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with 2 Handed Wraps 1 Handed Flowers. Like the foundation weapon students, they section 1 of their form. Advanced weapon students are working on the different kinds of cuts and slices they have in their form.
