In this blog series, we will post reminders of what the students worked on during the previous week. This gives you or your child ideas for how to practice at home between classes. Lil’ Dragons:  Lil’ Dragons students warmed up with partner workouts. They focused on the techniques, Low Block and Cat Tail! To help with their Cat Tail students should stand to the left of a pillow or stuffed animal. Students should raise their right foot up and over the pillow and hop off their left foot to jump over the pillow!  Keep practicing your Leopard form and be ready to show off your Cat Tail!

BASIC Program: Kids BASIC students warmed up with an endurance workout. They learned section one of their fighting form. Students also reviewed their swing kicks. Make sure to practice your line kicks to be ready for class!

Teen and Adult Basic: This week students began class with an endurance workout. Students focused on learning section one of their form. They also reviewed some of their line kicks(Swing Kicks).

Kids BBC Program: Kids BBC students started class with a review of their swing kicks. Students learned section one of their Chang Quan form. Students also got to practice their self-defense for the section as well!

Adult/Teen BBC Program: This week, the Adult and Teen BBC students started off class with line kicks. They reviewed section one of their new Chang Quan form. They also practiced a variety of shoulder stretches to improve flexibility.

Foundation Weapons: Students in the Foundation section of weapons started off by reviewing the anatomy of the staff. The focus was on learning the first section of their form. Students should practice their forward flowers and fighting stances.

Advanced Weapons: Advanced weapon students warmed up with a review of the anatomy of a broadsword. Advanced weapon students reviewed section one of their form. Students should practice wraps and reverse wraps making sure to maintain connection with their weapon for the entire movement.
